dc.description.abstract |
This paper presents an alternative technique for number-plate recognition. It employs RULES-3 inductive learning algorithm and template matching technique. Each number or letter used in number plates is considered as an example which consists of 20 frequencies of each 3 x 3 mask used for representation. In order to recognise a number plate, all the characters contained are tested one by one using the extracted set of rules by RULES-3. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. |
