EXAMINING SELF-LEADERSHIP IN THE CONTEXT OF INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship of personality traits with self-leadership. In this direction, the relationship of various individual differences (i.e., type A personality, narcissism, external locus of control, and five factor personality traits) with self-leadership were examined. 306 university students participated in the research. According to research findings; positive associations were obtained between self-leadership and type A personality, narcissism, openness to experience, conscientiousness, and extroversion. Whereas negative associations were obtained between self-leadership and neuroticism and external locus of control. According to the findings of multiple regression analysis, only type A personality and narcissism affected self-leadership positively and only neuroticism negatively affected self-leadership.
