Dissolution kinetics of primary chalcopyrite ore from Artvin-Murgul, Turkey has been studied in hypochlorite solution. The dissolution kinetics was found to be controlled by diffusion through the product layer as the rate-determining step. The activation energy (E) was calculated as 19.88 kJ mol(-1).
