Abstract:
In this paper in situ pulsed laser annealing and absorption measurements results of Ag-implanted float glass are reported. A Nd:YAG laser harmonic at 266 nm was used to anneal the target area by coupling energy to the glass host, whilst an argon laser at 488 nm was used as a probe beam of changes in nanoparticle size. The equilibrium conditions show a third order power dependence on the laser pulse energy, which is attributed to the volume in which ion migration can occur during excitation. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
