Abstract:
In this study, using a rotational invariant microscopic model which is free from any adjustable parameter in the random phase approximation, the total M1 transition intensities of the 1(+) levels arising from the scissors mode for the Ce isotopes up to 4 MeV have been calculated and their dependence on the square of the deformation parameter delta(2) has been investigated. In the Ce isotopes, the dependence of the total B(M I) transition on delta(2) is linear as in the case of Nd and Sm isotopes. The separation of the rotational branch from the 1(+) states causes the fragmentation of the scissors mode and the collectivization of low-lying states.
