dc.description.abstract The study investigates the relationships between OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) prevention costs, OHSMS (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) practices, employee satisfaction, OHS performance, and accident costs. To this end, data were collected from 171 OHSMS certified companies operating in Turkey and analyzed through exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. The findings indicate that OHS prevention costs have a significant positive effect on OHSMS practices; OHSMS practices have a significant positive effect on employee satisfaction and OHS performance; employee satisfaction has a significant positive effect on reduced accident costs; and OHS performance has a significant positive effect on reduced accident costs. Also, the results indicate that safety performance and employee satisfaction leverage the relationship between OHSMS practices and accidents costs.
