Özet Bu araştırmada; zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip öğrencilere istihdam analizine dayalı mesleki becerilerin öğretim sürecinin betimlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu temel amaç doğrultusunda şu sorulara yanıt aranmıştır: a) Sakarya ili engellilere yönelik iş gücü piyasa analizi sonuçları nasıldır? b) Özel eğitim mesleki eğitim merkezinde iş gücü piyasa analizine dayalı atölye açma süreci nasıl gerekleşmektedir? c) Yeterliklere dayalı bir mesleki eğitim programının öğeleri nelerdir? d) Atölye ortamında zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip bireylere iş öğretimine yönelik bir mesleki öğretim süreci nasıl gerçekleştirilmektedir? e) Zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip bireylere atölye ortamında iş öğretimine yönelik yapılan mesleki öğretimin gerçek iş ortamında desteği ile genelleme süreci nasıldır? Bu araştırma, eylem araştırması olarak desenlenmiştir. Araştırmada gözlem, görüşme, günlük, saha notu, görsel ve işitsel dokümanlar, toplantı tutanakları ve süreç ürünleri veri toplama tekniklerini oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırma ile ilk olarak Sakarya ili engellilere yönelik istihdam analizi sonuçları betimlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlara dayalı olarak; en yaygın sektör “imalat” ve en yaygın alt sektör ise “tekstil” olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu nedenle mesleki eğitim merkezinde bir tekstil-paketleme atölyesi açılmıştır. Bu atölyede uygulanmak üzere yeterliklere dayalı bir mesleki eğitim programı hazırlanmıştır. Bu program ile zihinsel yetersizliğe sahip üç öğrenciye erkek gömleği paketleme işi 2 aylık sürede öğretilmiştir. Erkek gömleği paketleme işi kapsamında a) düğmeleme ve marka takma; b) yaka basma ; c) yaka çemberi ve kelebek çember takma; d) katlama ve ütüleme; e) etiketleme ve jelatinleme olmak üzere toplam 5 beceri öğretilmiştir. Öğrencilerin tüm becerileri üç oturum ard arda % 100 düzeyinde bağımsız olarak yapabildiği gözlenmiştir. Atölye uygulaması sonrasında üç öğrenci gerçek iş ortamına, erkek gömleği üretim fabrikası paketleme bölümüne, yerleştirilmiş ve haftanın iki günü çalışarak 2 ay üretime katılmışlardır. 2 ay atölye eğitimi ve 2 ay fabrikada “iş başı eğitimi” olmak üzere toplam 4 ay sonunda öğrenciler , tam bağımsız çalışabilir düzeye ulaşmışlardır. Ayrıca başlangıçta % 30 hata oranı ile ürünleri teslim ederken süreç sonunda bu oran % 4’e düşmüştür.
Abstract This study aimed at describing the process of teaching vocational skills to students with intellectual disabilities based on employment analysis. To this end, an attempt was made to answer the following questions: a) What are the employment analysis results of the disabled in Sakarya Province? b) How is a workshop opened in a special education vocational training center based on employment analysis? c) What are the constituents of a vocational training programme based on competences? d) How is the vocational education process aimed at teaching a profession to the students with intellectual disabilities conducted in the workshop environment? e) To what degree do the students with intellectual disabilities gain relevant acquisitions from the vocational education process aimed at teaching a profession in the workshop environment? f) To what degree is a profession taught in the workshop environment performed by the students with intellectual disabilities fluently? g) What is the level and how is the process of generalizing the vocational education aimed at teaching a profession to the students with intellectual disabilities in the workshop environment to the real job environment? h) What problems do students encounter in the process of participating in production in the factory? What solutions are suggested for overcoming such problems? The present study was an action research. Data collection techniques employed in the study were observation, interview, daily, field note, visual and auditory documents, meeting minutes, and process products. In the current study,the results of the employment analysis related to the students with intellectual disabilities in Sakarya Province were described in the first place. Based on such results, it was seen that the most common sector was “manufacturing”, and the most common sub-sectorwas “textile”. Thus, a textile-packing workshop was opened in the special education center. A vocational training programme based on competences was prepared to be implemented in this workshop. Within the framework of this programme, “packing male shirt” was taught to three students with intellectual disabilities incompetence in 2 months. Within the scope of this job (i.e. packing male shirt), the following 5 skills were taught: a) buttoning and branding; b) collar pressing ; c) putting in collar ring and collar butterfly; d) folding and ironing; e) labeling and gelatinizing. It was observed that the students were able to perform independently all of the above-mentioned skills with a success rate of one hundred percent for three successive sessions. At the end of the workshop practices, three students were placed in the packing department of a male shirt manufacturing factory (i.e. a real job environment), and they participated in producing by working two days a week. The students who were supported in the factory for 2 months turned out to be capable of working independently at the end of the process
