Abstract

In this study by sheding the light into the period of Qutb’s life, his relationship_x000D_ with the Ikhwan has been questioned. Eventhough Qutb is widely considered to_x000D_ be a part of the Ikhwan, this work will find out the issues Qutb differs from_x000D_ Ikhwan which made his participation into Brotherhood very short-termed. In this_x000D_ study which is prepared by scanning the first hand resources of Qutb’s era, the_x000D_ process until his execution is meticulously investigated. As a result, it is_x000D_ determined that, Qutb’s short participation into the Ikhwan movement took place_x000D_ soon after the Free Officers’ revolution and his relationship with the Ikhwan_x000D_ broke down as the ideological rift between them became deepened after one year_x000D_ into his imprisonment during Free Officers reign. This research will reexamine_x000D_ Qutb’s relationship with the Ikhwan and will shed a new light on Qutb’s distinct_x000D_ political and religious thought, which has been considered hitherto to be similar_x000D_ to that of the Ikhwan._x000D_
