HAREKÂT VE NEŞRİYAT: DİYANET_x000D_ GAZETESİ’NDE 1974 KIBRIS BARIŞ HAREKÂTI_x000D_ SÖYLEMİ

Abstract

Türk modernleşme tecrübesinde basın ve yayın önemli bir görev üstlenmiş ve_x000D_ kurucu bir hüviyete sahip olmuştur. Düşünce dünyasının farklı kesimleri_x000D_ fikirlerini gazete ve dergiler vasıtasıyla halka iletmiş, halka modern anlamda_x000D_ vatan, millet, milliyet gibi kavramlar bu unsurlarla tanıtılmıştır. Cumhuriyet’in_x000D_ ilanının ardından din işlerini tanzim etmek maksadıyla kurulan Diyanet İşleri_x000D_ Başkanlığı, 1968’de Diyanet Gazetesi’ni neşretmeye başlamıştır. Dini meselelerin_x000D_ yanında halkın genel kültürünü de tahkim etme çabası gösteren Diyanet Gazetesi,_x000D_ devletin ortaya koyduğu politikalar hususunda da devlet siyasetini destekleyen_x000D_ bir duruş sergilemiştir. Bu duruşun önemli örneklerinden biri de 1974 Kıbrıs_x000D_ Barış Harekâtı sürecinde gazetenin yaptığı yayıncılık faaliyetlerinde görülebilir._x000D_ Türkiye için büyük bir öneme sahip olan Kıbrıs Adası’nda çeşitli antlaşma ve_x000D_ sistemler denenmiş olmasına rağmen barış ve düzenin sağlanamamış olması ve_x000D_ Yunanistan’ın desteklediği askeri unsurların adanın meşru yönetimine askeri_x000D_ darbe gerçekleştirmesi sebebiyle Türkiye, uluslararası antlaşmalardan doğan_x000D_ garantörlük hakkı doğrultusunda 20 Temmuz 1974’te adaya bir harekât_x000D_ düzenlemiştir. Devleti destekleme misyonu doğrultusunda Diyanet Gazetesi_x000D_ Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı’na, harekât öncesi, harekât anı ve sonrasında yer vermiş ve_x000D_ devletin söylemine muvafık bir söylem ortaya koymuştur. Sonuç olarak Diyanet_x000D_ İşleri Başkanlığı Diyanet Gazetesi vasıtası ile Türk düşünce geleneğindeki din ve_x000D_ siyasetin kardeş olduğu, devletin dini koruma ve yüceltme dinin ise onu_x000D_ desteklemekle görevli bulunduğu tasavvurunu hayata geçirmiştir. Çalışmada_x000D_ uluslararası meseleler karşısında Diyanet Gazetesi’nin nasıl bir söylem_x000D_ geliştirdiği probleminin Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı süreci etrafında tetkik edilmesi_x000D_ amaçlanmış ve bu istikamette söylem analizi yöntemi ile gazetedeki Kıbrıs_x000D_ konulu yazılar incelenmiştir. Varılan sonuç ise Diyanet Gazetesi’nin Kıbrıs Barış_x000D_ Harekâtı sürecinde devlet siyasetini tahkim edici bir yayıncılık politikası izlediği _x000D_ olmuştur._x000D_

In the Turkish modernization experience, the press and media played an_x000D_ important role and had a founding identity. Different segments of the world of_x000D_ thought conveyed their ideas to the public through newspapers and magazines,_x000D_ and concepts such as homeland, nation and nationality were introduced to the_x000D_ public in these modern terms. The Presidency of Religious Affairs, which was_x000D_ established to organize religious affairs after the proclamation of the Republic,_x000D_ started to publish the Diyanet Gazetesi (Religious Affairs Newspaper) in 1968._x000D_ The Diyanet Gazetesi, which strives to support the general culture of the people_x000D_ as well as religious issues, has taken a stance that supports the policy of the state_x000D_ regarding the policies put forward by the state. One of the important examples_x000D_ of this stance can be seen in the publishing activities of the newspaper during the_x000D_ 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. Because even though various treaties and systems_x000D_ have been tried on the Cyprus which is an important island for Turkey, there has_x000D_ been always a failure to maintain order and peace, Greece supported to perform_x000D_ military coup to the island’s legitimate government, Turkey has made an_x000D_ operation in accordance with the right of guarantee arising from international_x000D_ treaties on 20 July 1974. In line with its mission to support the state, Diyanet_x000D_ Gazetesi included the Cyprus Peace Operation before, during and after the action_x000D_ and put forward a parallel discourse with the state. As a result, the Presidency of_x000D_ Religious Affairs has realized the understanding that religion and politics are_x000D_ brothers in the Turkish thought tradition and that the state is responsible for_x000D_ protecting and exalting religion while the religion supports it through Diyanet_x000D_ Gazetesi. In this study, it was aimed to examine the problem of how Diyanet_x000D_ Gazetesi developed discourse in the face of international issues around the_x000D_ Cyprus Peace Operation process and accordingly, the articles on Cyprus in the_x000D_ newspaper were analyzed by discourse analysis method. The conclusion was_x000D_ that Diyanet Gazetesi followed a publishing policy that supported state policy_x000D_ during the Cyprus Peace Operation.
