18. Asır İstanbul Şer'iyye Sicillerinde, Miras ve Satış Hüccetlerindeki Sosyal Nitelikli Verilerin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Şeriyye sicilleri Osmanlı sosyal ve kültürel tarihinin birinci el kaynaklarının en önemlilerinden biri olup sosyal tarihçi, sanat tarihçisi, antropologlar, bölge tarihçileri gibi farklı disiplinlerden pek çok bilim adamının ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilecek kadar geniş bir veri tabanına sahiptir. Sosyal tarih yazımının inşası istatistikleri gerekli kılar. Başka türlü sosyal tarih yazımının genel sonuçlara ulaşması güçtür. Bundan dolayı bu makalede şu sorulara cevap bulmaya çalışılmıştır: Sicillerden ne çeşit bilgiler elde edilebilir, farklı olayların / davaların farklı tanımlamalarından herbiri diğerine nasıl bağlanabilir. Böyle bir çalışma için zaman ve alan sınırlaması kaçınılmazdır. Bu yüzden İstanbul Suriçi bölgesinde yer alan Ahi Çelebi ve Bab Mahkemelerinden 1724-25 tarihli üç adet sicil seçilmiştir. Bu defterlerde yer alan bütün satış ve miras davaları değerlendirilerek tablolar hazırlanmış ve genel sonuçlara ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Ottoman Court Records are one of the most important first hand sources of the Ottoman Social and Cultural History. They hold enough database and are to meet most of the expectations of any scholars from different disciplines, social historians, architectural historians, urban historians, and anthropologists etc. Construction of a social history narrative needs also statistics. Otherwise history narrative does not reach general explanations. Therefore this article intends to find an answer to these questions. What kind of information can be extracted from the court records and how can they link each other from different descriptions of events. In this study only three sijils dated 1124 ot 1725 were chosen from the Istanbul Ahi Celebi and the Bab Mahkame (court) at the Istanbul Müftülük Archive with the Istanbul Surici region. Among all court records the lists of inheritance and sales were looked into in order to reach general explanations and tables prepared accordingly.
