Bu araştırmanın amacı, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarına hizmet öncesi eğitim sürecindeki Özel Öğretim Yöntemleri-II dersi kapsamında, öğretimde yöntem zenginliği kazandırmak için farklı bir yaklaşım geliştirmek ve uygulamasını değerlendirmektir. Araştırma, 2003-2004 eğitim-öğretim güz yarıyılında Özel Öğretim Yöntemleri-II dersini alan SAÜ. Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Bölümü'nde öğrenim gören örneklemdeki 70 öğretmen adayı ile özel durum çalışmasına dayalı olarak; anket, mülakat ve gözlem metodu kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Elde edilen anket verileri, SPSS 11.00 programında tanımlayıcı istatistik yöntemi ile ortalama ve standart sapmalara, mülakat ve gözlem verileri ise, ortak görüş ve tespitlere dayalı olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında, geliştirilen yaklaşımın kavramsal yapısı ve uygulanma süreci tanıtılmış ve yürütülen uygulamanın fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının mesleki becerilerinin ve özellikle öğretimde yöntem zenginliği kazanma becerilerinin gelişimine anlamlı düzeyde katkıda bulunduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırma, fakülte-okul işbirliği kapsamında okul uygulamalarını yürüten ilgili taraflardan, özellikle uygulama öğretim elemanları ve uygulama öğretmenlerine yönelik önemli öneriler belirtilerek sonuçlandırılmıştır.
The purpose of this research is to develop a new approach and assess the application for the student teachers to gain varied methods in teaching. The research was applied during the fall semester in the 2003-2004 academic year with 70 student teachers who attended the course of Special Methods for Teaching-II at the SAU. Faculty of Education by using survey, interwiev and observation techniques based on case study methodology. Data of survey were analyzed with SPSS 11.00 using descriptive statistics based on mean and standard deviation and data of interwieving and observation were analyzed according to common wievs. In this research, the conceptual framework and implementation process of developed approach was explained. It was concluded that implementation process has meaningful contribution to the professional skills development of science student teachers especially in terms of improvement of gained varied methods in teaching. This researh ended with the important suggestions for the related sides in the context of the faculty-school partnership especially for university supervisors and mentors.
