In this study, the relationships among empathic tendency and circadian preference on cyberbullying and cybervictimization of adolescents in Turkey were examined. The study group included 1540 adolescents (861 female, 679 male), and anonymous and voluntary participation was sought in forming the study group. Data were collected from each participant by assessing a demographic questionnaire, the Composite Scale of Morningness for circadian preference, Empathy, Cyberbully and Victim Scales. The most important result was that gender, empathy, and Composite Scale of Morningness scores were the predictors for cyberbullying and cybervictimization, and as a consequence, male and evening-oriented adolescents scored higher on cyberbullying and cybervictimization. Additionally, it was observed that cyberbullying and empathy were inversely correlated in adolescents.

In this study, the benefits of limestone powder (LP), basalt powder (BP) and marble powder (MP) as partial replacement of Portland cement are established. Furthermore, LP, BP and MP are used directly without attempting any additional processing in the production of self-compacting concrete (SCC). The water to binder ratio is maintained at 0.33 for all mixtures. The examined properties include workability, air content, compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and static and dynamic elastic moduli. Workability of the fresh concrete is determined by using both the slump-flow test and the L-box test. The results show that it is possible to successfully utilize waste LP, BP and MP as mineral admixtures in producing SCC. Due to its observed mechanical advantages, the employment of waste mineral admixtures improved the economical feasibility of SCC production on a unit strength basis. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. The first purpose of this study was to develop valid and reliable a scale which measure the transactional distance. Besides, the second purpose of the study was to investigate whether the transactional distance perception differed according to gender, utilized component and number of logins to system, and also blended learning was useful. The study group consisted of 197 blended learning students at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Sakarya University. The scale consisted of 38 items and 5 sub-factors. It was found out that gender, utilized component and number of logins to system did not have a significant effect on transactional distance perception. Dialog, structure flexibility, control, and autonomy perception of participants who regarded blended learning useful was high; on the other hand, their content organization perception was low.

This research aims to determine opinions of university graduates about social networks according to their personal characteristics. The research was conducted on 203 university graduates who received teacher training at Sakarya University in 2010-2011 academic year. Two different data collection tools were administered to the participating university graduates and correlation analysis was conducted in light of data collected from the tools above. As is widely accepted by the technology users, Facebook, the most used social network in Turkey and across the world, was selected as the social network for the research. A positive and significant relationship was found among Facebook-related opinions stated by university graduates having an extravert personality as a result of data collected through the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised/Short-Form and Opinions of University Graduates about Social Networks data collection tools.
